Wilma Ligthart started her theatre career with the internationally praised Dogtroep based in the Netherlands. There she learned “infiltration acting” as well as costume & prop design. She performed through whole Europe for big audiences in unusual settings. After Dogtroep she began to write and direct her own theater plays which performed at various theater festivals won the first prize at theSantarcangelo di Romagna Theatre Festival in Italy.

Wilma took Method-acting classes from Warren Robertson, and film acting classes from Nancy Gould. After her film & scenario studies at the University of Amsterdam she began to integrate audio-visual elements towards her theater plays. Drawing interest of a commisisionings editor from VPRO
( Dutch Broadcast Station), they asked her to write and direct many drama series for VILLA ACHTERWERK (children’s department VPRO).
During the last years 20 years Wilma created many drama productions for the VPRO. She filled the parts of director, scenarist and also played the leading role in ‘Valley of the Dolls ’, ‘ Sprookjes van de Zee’ and ‘ De Hondenshow ‘. Wilma performed at de Parade (travelling theatre festival) with the humorous theater plays ‘KUT , de show ‘ and ‘ De Hondenshow ‘.
